This observation of the solitude of reading colliding with a sense of community through led book spaces = spot on!

I think there's also something to be said for the tension between a) the longevity and depth of books AND b) the way they're being used to market more fleeting goods/services. I'm biased, but I think that slow/sustainable (fashion) brands would do well to integrate a book club club into their brand strategies (a la Reformation)
